OCR: BURGER Nominal Cooling Towers WHAT ARE ' NOMINAL ' COOLING TOWERS ? They are defined as towers circulating three gallons of water per minute to cool one ton of refrigeration at an entering HWT of 95 F with a CWT discharge of 85 F at a 78 F wet bulb. Since the wet bulb varies geographically, a selection chart assists the purchaser in making a proper choice for his location based on a higher or lower WBT. More often than not the operator of a ' nominal ' cooling tower finds that the tower is inadequate in the Summer when the wet bulb temperature for his location is reached. To understand why the problem surfaces all you have to do is to look up the definition of ' nominal ' in the dictionary . 1 Continue 2 Previous 0 Main Menu
